Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse (KRCHN)

Course Duration: 3 Years

These programme is designed to equip learners with the right competence in knowledge, skills and attitude in becoming an all-round and competent nurse who is able to deliver quality and safe nursing interventions. The course is a combination of three major areas of nurse training, namely; General Nursing, Community Health nursing and Midwifery.

Course Content

The content covered in the programme addresses the critical thematic areas of the profession which includes: Medical Surgical Nursing; Community Health nursing; Midwifery; Pediatrics, Psychiatry; Casualty Emergency; Theatre Nursing

Entry requirements

1. Minimum entry age – 17 years
2. Aggregate KCSE (mean grade) C plain or KCE division II
3. The mandatory subjects should include a minimum of:
C plain English or Kiswahili
C plain in Biology or Biological sciences
C-(minus) in Mathematics or physics/chemistry/physical sciences
