Course Duration: 2 Years
Entry requirements

The course equips students with current trends in ICT and equips them with knowledge, skills and attitudes to manage patients’ medical records. Students also explore many other subjects, including database management, electronic health records, and ethical and legal issues related to health information management. The student will also gains an understanding of the principles of health information management and the complexity of the healthcare systems, both in private and public sectors of the economy.

The content covered in the programme includes:

  1. Health Records Database Management
  2. Management of Health Information
  3. Registration of Patients
  4. Filing of Medical Records
  5. Coding and Indexing of Diseases
  6. Archival of Medical Records
  7. Management of Electronic Health.

This course takes 2 Years. 

Intake: January, May, September

  1. Minimum qualifications are KCSE D+
  2. KCSE Mean Grade C (Plain). C in English/Kiswahili, C- in Mathematics, C- in Biology/Biological science and C- in any one of the following (Physics/ Physical sciences, Chemistry, General science, Computer studies.
