Perioperative Theatre Technology is a program that develops individual competencies for one to provide services in an operation theatre set –up in a hospital. Theatre Technologists also known as surgical Technologists assist in surgical procedures under the supervision of surgeons, Anaesthetists and registered nurses.
These skills include infection control, technical support, safety maintenance, instrument care, clinical assistance, and administrative duties. Trained professionals ensure patient safety through infection prevention and technical assistance to the theatre team. They uphold safety standards, manage instruments, and actively participate in surgeries, contributing to optimal patient care. Additionally, they handle administrative and managerial responsibilities, ensuring smooth operation of the theatre and overall hospital coordination.
