The course implements a certified international (UK) curriculum that was shaped to cater for those who wish to become certified patient attendants upon graduation.

CPA’s can deliver quality and safe patient care interventions under the supervision of licensed instructors. The course majorly involves theoretical work, skills practice and clinical attachments.

Objectives

The objective of this course is to enable the students to become competent in skills, attitude and knowledge needed to effectively assist nurses and provide quality care to patients in different health care settings.

Course content

Some of the units covered include:

  • Basic nursing skills
  • Infection prevention and control
  • Basic anatomy and physiology
  • Patient safety
  • Patient Care Procedures
  • Mental Health Support
  • Palliative and End-of-Life Care

This course takes 5 Months. 

Intake: January, March, June, September

CPA’s can work in hospitals, nursing homes, provide home care, elderly homes. The job outlook is very good for this field both within and outside the country.
