This Programme aims at equipping students with knowledge, skills, attitudes, and competencies that will enable them to perform various roles for effective community development and public health management. Focused on collaborative efforts, it equips individuals to drive positive change in society.

It delves into disease patterns, health service organization, and administration, fostering graduates who can analyze health trends, devise interventions, and shape policies for better public health by understanding community dynamics and health complexities.

The content covered in the programme includes:

  1. Community Capacity Building and Empowerment
  2. Epidemiology and Control of Communicable Diseases
  3. Health Management and Administration
  4. Resource Mobilization
  5. Management and Fundraising
  6. Maternal and Child Health /Midwifery and Family Planning
  7. Environmental Health

This course takes 1 Year. 

Intake: January, May, September

  1. Minimum qualifications are KCSE D+
  2. KCSE Mean grade of C- (Minus) or equivalent with at least C- (Minus) in the following: Biology, English/Kiswahili and a C- (Minus) in two other Sciences or Humanities; OR,
  3. Mean grade D+ (Plus) at KCSE with at least a certificate in community health or any other health-related course.
