Course Duration: 2 Years
Entry requirements

This programme is designed to equip the learner with relevant knowledge, skills and attitudes to enable him or her to perform mental health support duties within a diverse
social-economic, cultural, political, religious and educational world. The course seeks to equip students with competencies, skills, knowledge and attitudes required to enable them to effectively address the psychological and counselling challenges to those in need of it.

The content covered in the programme includes:

  1. Loss
  2. Grief and Trauma
  3. Family and Marriage counselling
  4. Counselling processes and Practice
  5. Stress management
  6. Special needs and disability
  7. Workplace counselling services
  8. Addictions, among others

This course takes 2 Years. 

Intake: January, May, September

  1. Minimum qualifications are KCSE D+ for Certificate & KCSE C- or KCE Div. 2 or A’ Level qualification with a minimum of two subsidiary passes or equivalent.
